... fate...

"do you believe in fate?" megan asks while leaning on isaac's shoulder.

with his arms around her, stirring from his nap, "hmmm, what is it sweetheart? why do you ask?"

"oh nothing, i just felt as though there are some things happening in my life that's pretty bizarre. and its also happening around the friends closest to me. it is all interconnected with my life some how.."

"then you just have to let things unfold. and to answer your question, yes, i do believe in fate.."

"why? has anything happened to you before?"

"well, i rescued you, didn't i?"

mmm.. but of course. if not, how would we be together in this cosmic phenomenon happening in my life now,"
megan teases, giving isaac a cheeky wink.

isaac shifts his position, turning megan on her sides, and begins tickling her. they were both laughing for awhile before ending in an embrace of kisses...

----------------------

megan screams as her car runs along the divider, wheels riding along the walls, and finally turning over, roof dragging for a couple of hundred meters on the freshly tarred road.

another car coming from the opposite direction seeing the accident in front jam breaks into a halt, creating tyre burn marks. the driver gets down from the car and runs over to the megan's aston, to see if the driver was hurt or not.

megan was unconscious with her shoulder in an awkward position. fortunately, the other driver was able to crank the door open and felt for megan's pulse.

feeling her pulse jump, he immediately puts his arm across her shoulder, gripping firmly and pulls her out slowly. he wasn't sure if she had broken anything.

putting her down on the roadside, he waits for the rescue team to arrive as the sirens blare in the background.

-------------------------

in the waiting room, he paces, hoping to get some news from the doctors. the nurse had asked earlier if she was a relative or a friend.

he said he wasn't a relative, but wasn't sure if he was a friend or not. something about megan was oddly familiar to him, and yet he couldn't place a finger to where he's seen her before.

a nurse walked out of the operation room, he ran over and asked if megan was alright. the nurse couldn't give him an answer, only saying that they should inform her family of the accident.

it didn't sound good.. at all..

------------------------------

sophia arrived and was at the nurse's counter, enquiring about megan. she tried telling the nurse that she felt something was very wrong, and came straight to the hospital when she couldn't get megan on the phone

the nurse was awfully surprised as she was just about to pick up the phone to call her family.

"i'm her only family here, they are all out of state..."

the nurse brings her to the waiting room to meet the man who rescued megan.

"hi, my name is sophia, thank you for rescuing megan"

"is she alright? the nurse won't tell me anything except to call her family... are you family?"

sophia shook her head.

"i'm so sorry about megan... i'm isaac."

----------------------------

lying in the cot, megan shifted and opened her eyes. her blurred vision was clearing and she saw sophia arranging the flowers by her side.

"where am i?" megan asked.

"honey, you're in the hospital. you were in an accident earlier," sophia said.

"oh gawd, my head hurts.." as megan tries to get up.

"you shouldn't get up. fortunately, you only have a small concussion and a dislocated shoulder."

"there's not even a scratch on your beautiful face, you lucky girl" smirks sophia.

megan giggles feebly. "did you bring those flowers?"

"no my dear, these are from the guy who pulled you out of the car," sophia pauses, unsure of how to pose her next question.

"there's something odd about him. something familiar... his name is isaac. do you know him?"

Fate. I have always thought that whatever happens to anybody is the consequence of their own doing. Nothing is pre-destined, and nothing is unchangeable. Until a series of event in the last couple of months in my life made me think. Hard. I am still in the process of rectifying some wrongs, doing a great job at it. :)
